The Condamine Country Plant Group

About Us

We are a small collective of plant enthusiasts from around Toowoomba on Queenslandโ€™s Darling Downs. Itโ€™s our belief that everyone should have the right to know their own natural heritage without needing specialised botanical training.

Development, whether for agriculture, housing or industry, has greatly changed the landscape of the Condamine Catchment over the past two centuries. This change continues, and together with the increasingly obvious effects of global heating, it means many of our native plants are restricted to ever-diminishing patches of habitat, much of it in roadside remnant vegetation or in state forests.

It is our hope that greater public awareness and knowledge of our local plants will stimulate an urge to protect and enhance the precious biodiversity that remains.
